About Me

For over twenty years, my field of expertise has been working with kids and adults with learning disabilities and ADHD, people who are often used to making mistakes and having other people focus on their challenges. I developed what has become almost a mantra: everyone has challenges, and everyone has gifts, or powers, and the goal is to find your powers and to use them for good. Along the way I’ve learned that I need to live what I teach.
My powers include being a big mouth for other folks, sharing stories which help others, and engaging minds in and out of the classroom. I have been a teacher, an interventionist, a principal, a non-profit director, a community outreach director, a trainer and presenter, a curriculum director, a data manager, and a marketing & communications director. I always wear a wide range of “hats”, but the three things that stay consistent are my passion for learning, creating, and empowering others. I thrive when I can apply my range of expertise, my busy brain, and my passion for learning with others, so I established Mind Matters, and now bigmouthadvocacy.com, as one way for me to practice what I teach!
