I am an innovative problem solver and passionate learner who started my own business, Mind Matters, to be able to focus on creating, writing, and consulting in education, non-profit administration, and communications.
I tend to be an out-of-the-box thinker, but I know that being able to pack things and ideas in a “box”, or at least a category, is needed to help them stay organized and from overtaking my space and my life. I knew that in order to communicate my wide ranges of skills and expertise as a business, I needed to figure out just what my box is, so I buckled down with some of my best teacher skills and the wonderful knowledge I have accumulated from working with amazing professionals throughout my career and mapped out all of matters on my mind.
I applied some of the awesomeness that is backward design and design thinking. I was able to really dig into what I have an affinity for and developed four solid big idea areas: learning & teaching; creating & sharing; reading & literacy; writing & empowering. I am a big mouth advocate in each of those areas, so I knew I’d found my fit.
